Don't worry the old Taylor is fine. In fact, the old Taylor is the new Taylor just wrapped in new packaging for the release of her 6th album, Reputation due to drop this November. The first single "Look What You Made Me Do" is just what you'd expect from a Taylor Swift song, something ripped out of a page from her diary and set to music. This song is a breakup song. Basically, another "Bad Blood" just aimed at Kanye' and Kim. She's is doing what she does as an artist, which is capitalizing on a relationship gone sour from a hurt perspective. Whether it's romantic or platonic it's still a breakup. The title and chorus of the song say " Look what you made me do", but I'm not altogether clear about what that means. Did this person or people make her take time away from the spotlight after the #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty of 2016?

My guess is that he/they made her take a look at how the public views her. These public views take on a personality of their own in the video. Some dressed in classic Taylor moments and a few new ones. Looking at them I couldn't help but give them names. The Drama Queen, the Victim, the Ingenue, The Ringleader, Snake in the grass, the Primadonna, and lastly my low-key fav The H.B.I.C. of a squad of Supermodels. Maybe this is her way of calling out her rep that has built up before and after the original Kanye incident. With this album having the title it does, maybe she wants to address how she is quick to call out people when she feels offended. Maybe how she doesn't mind being shady during acceptance speeches. Perhaps, talking about learning that feminism is for the benefit of all women and not just her. MOST LIKELY NOT! Again, her reputation/brand as an artist is to bank off of hurt. Snakes may shed their skin, but they don't change it altogether. If any thing this is possibly the birth of an "edgier" new Taylor Swift.
